Our curation reflects the morals and ethics of our staff. Beer is the people’s beverage. To serve that end, the industry itself needs to be for everyone. Through what we stock in our cafes, we will ensure that our customers will be supporting the breweries and people that make us feel proud to work in beer.
Anti-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment, Anti-Retaliation
Discrimination is differential treatment of an individual or group of people based on their race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), age, marital and parental status, disability, sexual orientation, genetic information or other protected group status.
Harassment is unwelcome conduct that is based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or other protected group status. Unwelcome conduct may be verbal, physical or visual.
“Sexual” harassment is a particular type of harassment based on verbal, physical, or visual conduct based on sex. It includes unwelcome conduct such as sexual advances, requests for sexual favors or dates, remarks about an individual’s appearance, discussions, remarks or jokes of a sexual nature, and/or other verbal or physical harassment of a sexual nature.
Retaliation is taking an adverse action against an employee because the employee makes a complaint, reports concerns, or participates in discussion or investigation of Discrimination or Harassment misconduct.
Beermiscuous prohibits retaliation against employees who report misconduct, or participates in discussion or investigation of reported misconduct, or those who refuse to participate in an activity that would result in a violation of Illinois State or Federal law, rule, or regulation.
Reporting Misconduct
Employees may report misconduct by informing Austin Harvey or Zigmas Maloni verbally or in writing. Employees may anonymously report misconduct by leaving or mailing an anonymously written report with one, some, or all of these individuals: Austin Harvey or Zigmas Maloni.
Investigation
Beermiscuous will investigate all reports of misconduct thoroughly, discreetly, and promptly. If necessary to the integrity of the investigation, an independent party will conduct the investigation.
Any employee found to have exhibited any inappropriate conduct or behavior against others may be subject to corrective action up to and including termination.
